Barnet Council supported volunteers who wished to clear snow by offering grit and spreading equipment. Four volunteers needed sign up to a pledge for it to succeed.

The council pledged to provide advice and insurance cover. Schools had the chance to take part and get parents and volunteers to help clear access to the school.
